Why Read My Blog?!
What better time to start a blog than in your anniversary year! My company, Professional Marketing, celebrates its 25th year in business. When I rise each day, I look forward to what new opportunities will come my way: learn something new, meet a new friend, learn about a great book to read, discover a new PR technique – or think of an original idea to bring to market! I am an innovator, an entrepreneur, and I look forward to meeting you at a trade show – or wherever our paths cross.
When I reflect upon my career, I am amazed at some of the opportunities that I have experienced:
1) Met Susan J. Jones, Susan K. Jones & Associates, who helped me start a company!
2) Served as executive director of the trade organization, Collectors’ Information Bureau
3) Ran a home-based PR firm by choice – never thinking I would expand to run an agency!
4) Co-hosted the Contemporary Collectibles Show on The Lifetime Channel in 1995 – for an entire season of 14 shows! My deepest respect to all entertainers!
5) Met Ringo Starr during a collector plate signing through Gartlan USA – as a baby boomer, what could top that!
6) Provided PR services and celebrity handling for the IMAX premier of The Polar Express
7) Through the gift and home décor industry and beyond – have been involved with many charitable causes: You will always gain more than you give, no matter how much you’ve given!
8) As a baby boomer – have not only survived the age of technology, but thrive on tomorrow’s next opportunity
